Join us for our Term 2, 2024 for our Beach Kids Forest School program (10 sessions) at Ricketts Point Marine Sanctuary in Beaumaris.

Our Beach Kids Forest School program incorporates hands on learning, adventurous and risky play, bush walks discovering local flora and fauna.

Some of the activities that will be included in our Bush Kids Forest School program are:

• • • Rockpool rambles
    • How to safety use tools (hammers, saws and drills ) and construct things out of wood
    • Whittling with wood
    • Bush walk learning about the local fauna and flora
    • Snake awareness and bush safety
    • Nature connection games
    • Ecological storytelling
    • Creating, crafting, making art with natural materials
    • Food prep and cooking

This Beach Kids program is led by Amy, a qualified Marine Biologist who has many years of experience running educational marine programs for children as well as been an avid snorkeler at Ricketts Point Sanctuary herself having grown up in the local area. We will spend time out on the rockpools and at the beach when the tide is low and weather conditions suit.

Forest School is an all weather outdoor program and will only be cancelled in the event of an extreme weather warning; fire, storm, high temperatures and strong wind.

Ages:  4  – 8 years (siblings under 18 months are welcome to attend for free)

For younger children aged 1 – 3 years, we also run a Beach Playgroup at Ricketts Point Sanctuary that you can BOOK HERE>

*Parents are required to stay and are responsible for their children at all times.
