Join us for a bush playgroup program  (10 weeks) at Ricketts Point Marine Sanctuary located on the traditional lands of the Bunurong people in Beaumaris. It’s the perfect place to introduce kids to the wonder of Victoria’s underwater marine life with sandstone platforms are home to an array of marine creatures and are excellent for rockpool exploration.

Our Beach Playgroup incorporates hands-on, child-led learning and sensory play through a range of nature-based activities, nature crafts, storytelling, songs and a rock pool exploring.

This Beach Kids program is led by Amy, a qualified Marine Biologist who has many years of experience running educational marine programs for children as well as been an avid snorkeler at Ricketts Point Sanctuary herself having grown up in the local area. We will spend time out on the rockpools and at the beach when the tide is low and weather conditions suit.

Playgroup allows parents to disconnect from their busy lives (and technology) and re-connect with their child in nature. The sessions are relaxed and completely child led and parents are encouraged to follow their child’s lead.

Beach playgroup is an all weather outdoor playgroup so you need to make sure you bring appropriate weather protection and clothing.  Our playgroup will only be cancelled in the event of an extreme weather warning; fire, storm, high temperatures and strong wind.

Ages:  1  – 3 years (siblings under 12 months are welcome to attend for free)

For older children aged 4 – 8 years, we also run any afternoon Marine Kids program that you can BOOK HERE>
