Sensory Nature Play Bush Playgroup – Casual

  •  01/10/2018
     10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Come and join us for a fun morning of nature connection and learning, nature craft activities, story, mud kitchen play, song and bushwalking at Lysterfield Lake.  Our play days offer you the best of nature play in a relaxed, supportive and positive environment. There is plenty of free and unstructured play as well as nature craft activities and loose parts play in our popular mud kitchen. The sessions are relaxed and child led and parents are encouraged to follow their child’s lead.

This playgroup is run by Katie.

Katie is a passionate environmental educator and scientist who has over 20 years experience running environmental education programs and more recently, working with children as a fully accredited AustSwim Teacher. She is currently completing her studies in Early Childhood Education and has many years bush experience while conducting field research  ‘off the beaten track’  in remote farming, forested and desert landscapes.

Our program has been developed to give your child optimum opportunity to build their gross motor and physical skills through climbing, balancing, walking and fine motor skills during our craft activities. Research clearly shows that the more time your child spends in nature, the better they are prepared for school, both physically and emotionally.

Ages: 1 – 6 years (siblings under 12 months are welcome to attend for free).
