     1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

It’s time to get kids off the screens and into our Bush Kids – Forest School these school holidays! They’ll learn life skills and how to use real tools while making friends and building confidence.

Join us for this hands-on workshop as we learn valuable bushcraft skills  The kids will learn bush skills such as how to tie various rope knots and then design and construct their own mini boat or raft. This workshop involves plenty of construction and creativity and they will be sourcing and using all natural materials. Then we’ll head off for a bush walk to to the lake and to try out our boats. Will they sail or will they sink? Let’s see!

This forest school holiday workshop is being held at Lysterfield Lake Park and run by Katie.

Katie is a passionate environmental educator and scientist who has over 20 years experience running environmental education programs and more recently, working with children as a fully accredited AustSwim Teacher. She is currently completing her studies in Early Childhood Education and has many years bush experience while conducting field research ‘off the beaten track’ in remote farming, forested and desert landscapes.

The children can work both independently and as a team and take these skills home with them that they can then use anytime in the bush.

Ages: 4 – 12 years

*Parents are responsible for their child at all times.
