World Oceans Day – Mornington Peninsula

Come and celebrate World Oceans Day at Mushroom Reef Sanctuary in Flinders on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula and be a Marine biologist for a day! Join us for a rock pool ramble and learn all about the AMAZING marine life that live at Mushroom Reef Sanctuary as well as important facts about them and which ones you must avoid.  There will be a scavenger hunt and plenty of discussions and activities on how you can help protect our environment for a more sustainable future.

Mushroom Reef is a beautiful rockpool oasis located in Flinders on the Mornington Peninsula famous for its diversity of marine life, including sheltered rock pools, coves and a shallow reef on the ocean side as well as sandstone rock platforms extending from the shore.

Our workshop facilitator Alison is a qualified Primary and Secondary School Teacher, who has been running marine workshops at Mushroom Reef Sanctuary for the past 6 months. She has experience working with children with special needs, as well as being involved in helping set up natural play spaces for her local kindergarten and playgroup for many years.

Ages: 3 – 12 years
