Join our City of Whittlesea Nature Families School Holiday program this summer and connect to and learn about your local parks and reserves.
Our programs introduce families to the great outdoors through fun and engaging activities while learning essential bush survival and bushcraft skills through hands on activities that promote self esteem, confidence, build resilience and most importantly encourage you to spend time outdoors and connect with nature in a deep and meaningful way.
During this hands-on workshop we’ll be learning basic bush survival skills and safety skills and playing games, as well as going ponding and building boats to take on our bush walk and down to the beautiful wetlands! Along the way, we’ll discover and learn all about the flora and fauna and find some bugs!
Located at Toorourrong Reservoir in Humevale, situated four kilometres north-east of Whittlesea, Toorourrong Reservoir Park is a scenic place offering grassed picnic areas and BBQ’s with walking tracks leading to lookouts of the Reservoir.
Eco Explorers Melbourne is an all-weather outdoor program so you need to make sure you bring appropriate weather protection and clothing. Our program will only be cancelled in the event of an extreme weather warning; fire, storm, high temperatures and strong wind.
Ages: 3-8 years
- Parents are required to stay and (encouraged to join in!) and supervise their child at all times.
