There’s nothing more magical than seeing your child’s eyes light up as they discover the magic beneath the forest! Come and join us for a whimsical and magical morning creating nature fairies or gnomes, building delightful fairy houses in the bush. Our facilitator Claire will take you on a journey telling stories of magical and enchanted forests, singing songs and even enjoying a bushwalk discovering the magical beings in the forest. There may even be some mindfulness and a short meditation to become fully present and tune in your senses to the forest fairies.
This workshop is run at Grants Picnic Ground in Kalilsta and includes: story telling, a song, bush walk learning about the local flora and fauna, nature craft activity making nature fairies and folk, as well as mindfulness activity.
Our program has been developed to give your child optimum opportunity to build their gross motor and physical skills through climbing, balancing, walking and fine motor skills during our craft activities. Research clearly shows that the more time your child spends in nature, the better they are prepared for school, both physically and emotionally.
This workshop is run by Claire, who is a trained in Steiner Early Childhood Education and their Craft curriculum. She is passionate about children experiencing the natural world through play based learning and story telling.
Bush playgroup is an all weather outdoor playgroup so you need to make sure you bring appropriate weather protection and clothing. Children and adults must wear closed footwear when walking in the bush, sun hats, sunscreen, wet weather gear, plenty of snacks and water and even a change of clothes for those muddy play days! Our playgroup will only be cancelled in the event of an extreme weather warning; fire, storm, high temperatures and strong wind.
Ages: 1 – 6 years (siblings under 12 months are welcome to attend for free).
*Parents are responsible for their children at all times and are encourage to join in on the fun!
