Ricketts Point Beach Playgroup 2

  •  01/10/2018
     1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Ricketts Point Marine Sanctuary, located just near Beaumaris, south-east of Melbourne is the perfect place to introduce kids to the wonders of underwater marine life. The area offers a diverse range of habitats with its rock pools close to shore.

Come and join us for a fun morning of nature connection, rock pool exploration and learning, nature craft activities and stories with a marine biologist!  Our Ricketts Point beach playgroup offers you the best of nature play in a relaxed, supportive and positive environment. There will be a range of marine focused activities on offer to engage your child’s senses.  The sessions are relaxed and child led and parents are encouraged to follow their child’s lead.

Our workshop facilitator Amy is a marine biologist and has many years of experience running environmental programs for children through Gould League.  She is a keen snorkeller at Ricketts Point Marine Sanctuary and has great knowledge of the local area and its marine life that she enjoys sharing with other families.

Our program has been developed to give your child optimum opportunity to build their gross motor and physical skills through climbing, balancing, walking and fine motor skills during our craft activities. Research clearly shows that the more time your child spends in nature, the better they are prepared for school, both physically and emotionally.

Ages: 2 – 6 years (siblings under 12 months are welcome to attend for free).
