ReWild Your Family – Winter Solstice

  •  24/06/2023
     1:30 pm - 5:00 pm

It’s time for families to get back some WILD time! Do you have a deep longing to create life-long memories, spend quality time and most importantly connect with your family outdoors?

Our ReWild Your Family program is an outdoor gathering, aimed to get families out into the bush to learn various bushcraft and bush survival skills that will inspire them to spend more time outdoors. This is for families who are passionate about what we do and want to learn the skills themselves. Whether you love camping or are a complete newbie, perhaps you are planning a big trip with your kids, or simply want to bring back some traditional hands-on learning and deep nature connection with your child. Our ReWild Your Family is for you!

With winter set in, we’ll be focusing fire skills and fire safety, how to use a flint and light a fire and as a family, enjoy some quality time connecting to nature, learning some bushcraft skills and cooking damper over a campfire. We’ll also be doing a good hour walk learning about the local flora and fauna. You will learn essential bush skills for survival such as how to stay safe and navigate in the bush, track and identify wildlife, know what to do if you see a snake and practice essential fire skills as a family. We’ll have some bush tea for you all to enjoy & keep warm!

Set on a 20 acre bush property in Strathewen, approximately 45kms north-east of Melbourne or just over an hour from the CDB. This fabulous location offers hikes up a mountain and untouched wilderness with an abundance of wildlife (kangaroos, wombats, echidna’s, deer, birdlife, frogs, turtles, lizards and much, much more!). This provides ample opportunity to learn and develop tracking, navigation and bush survival skills and safety.

This ReWild Your Family workshop is run by Eco Explorers founder, Adam.

Adam is the founder of Eco Explorers and has been delivering bush programs to families for over 6 years. He spent his entire childhood living and camping in the bush; climbing mountains, exploring rivers, learning to fish, track, make fires and to survive. He is also a forest school leader and has a background in Outdoor Education.
