ReWild Your Child ~ Bushcraft Fire Skills

  •  11/04/2024
     9:30 am - 4:00 pm

Join us these April school holidays and for nature play week for our outdoor Melbourne Forest School holiday program located.

Set on a 20 acre bush property in Strathewen, approximately 45kms north-east of Melbourne or just over an hour from the CDB. This fabulous location offers hikes up a mountain and untouched wilderness with an abundance of wildlife (kangaroos, wombats, echidna’s, deer, birdlife, frogs, turtles, lizards and much, much more!). This provides ample opportunity to learn and develop tracking, navigation and bush survival skills and safety.

Our ReWild Your Child school holiday program has been specifically designed to give your child a full day of uninterrupted wild bush play with our leading forest school leaders and assistants who are highly skilled in all areas of bushcraft and bush survival skills.

Our program connects children to nature while encouraging them to step outside of their ‘comfort zone’ and try new skills while learning essential bush survival and bushcraft skills. Each day is different and never the same at our ReWild programs.

During this session, we’ll be focusing on fire skills, how to light a fire, care for it and fire safety and survival skills.

Some of the activities that will be offered during this ReWild Your Child Forest School program are:

          • Shelter building and construction with ropes, hammers, sticks and tarps
          • How to safety use tools (hammers, saws and drills ) and construct things out of wood
          • Bush walk discovering local fauna and flora
          • How to stay safe in the bush
          • Snake awareness and safety
          • Nature connection games
          • Creating, crafting, making art with natural materials

Our forest school aims to inspire creativity, a natural curiosity and enriching sensory play experience while following your child’s interests at all times.

The forest school workshop is led by Adam.

Adam is an experienced Forest School Leader who has a background in Outdoor Education and a keen interest in bush survival and bushcraft skills.

Forest school Melbourne is an all-weather outdoor program so you need to make sure you bring appropriate weather protection and clothing. Our program will only be cancelled in the event of an extreme weather warning; fire, storm, high temperatures and strong wind.

Ages: 6-12 years

  • This is a drop of session only. (Please let us know if your child requires additional support)
