Phillip Island Wetlands & Mangrove Walk

  •  09/07/2018
     10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Conservation Hill Reserve is a renowned habitat for migratory waders and resident birds and takes in tranquil mangroves and mudflats. We’ll be doing a boardwalk through the mangroves, saltmarsh and mudflats, and learn all about the animals that habitat the area.

On return, the kids will do a fun nature craft activity relating to the animals they saw and also have plenty of opportunity to explore, learn and play in the bush.

We offer a gentle, yet inviting rhythm to our programs which starts with a gathering and acknowledgement of traditional landowners, a bush boardwalk learning about the plants and wildlife on the way, a nature craft activity and Australian story.

Our program has been developed to give your child optimum opportunity to build their gross motor and physical skills through climbing, balancing, walking and fine motor skills during our craft activities. Research clearly shows that the more time your child spends in nature, the better they are prepared for school, both physically and emotionally.

Our workshop facilitator, Nadine, is an early childhood educator who has over 10 years experience working as an Education Ranger at the Phillip Island Nature Park. She combines her passion for tourism and extensive knowledge of the local area with her love of working with children.

Ages: 3 – 10 years (siblings under 12 months are welcome to attend for free).

*Parents are responsible for their children at all times.
