Phillip Island Sensory Mud Kitchen Play

  •  02/07/2018
     10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Come and join us for a fun morning of nature connection and exploration with a range of interactive, engaging and sensory nature play activities for your little ones to enjoy!

Children will get to mix and crush their own earth paints and discover colours, as well as enjoy painting on all sorts of textures such as bark, rocks, paper and even their body. They can play with our selection of nature stamps to explore textures and smells with our 100% natural play dough, or learn about bugs in our small bug world. Of course, our mud kitchen play is always popular with the little ones who enjoy cooking up a storm of mud pies, mud cakes and perhaps even some delicious mud ice-cream. Yum!

We offer a gentle, yet inviting rhythm to our programs which starts with a gathering and acknowledgement of traditional landowners, some free exploration and mud kitchen play, a nature craft activity and Australian story, followed by a bush walk learning about the plants and wildlife on the way.

Our program has been developed to give your child optimum opportunity to build their gross motor and physical skills through climbing, balancing, walking and fine motor skills during our craft activities. Research clearly shows that the more time your child spends in nature, the better they are prepared for school, both physically and emotionally.

Our workshop facilitator, Nadine, is an early childhood educator who has over 10 years experience working as an Education Ranger at the Phillip Island Nature Park. She combines her passion for tourism and extensive knowledge of the local area with her love of working with children.

Ages: 1 – 6 years (siblings under 12 months are welcome to attend for free).

*Parents are responsible for their children at all times.
