Newport Lakes – Ropes, Knots & Catapults!

  •  27/06/2022
     1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Join us at Newport Lakes Reserve for our Bush Kids school holiday program where your child will be supported to learn essential bush survival skills such as how to tie ropes knots and build their own catapult using sticks!

Kids can build a catapult and learn about science at the same time.

Inspire your young engineer to build, create and problem solve making cool catapults out of sticks to propel objects into the air! This is a great family activity for all ages.

This workshop is run by Penny, a certified level 3 Forest School Leader who has been running programs for Eco Explorers for 5 years.

Our bush programs enable children to be kids, to get muddy and dirty and learn through real hands on experiences. We provide opportunities for families to completely immerse themselves in the outdoors, which is an excellent way to improve mental health, physical wellness and build strong relationships with others.

Eco Explorers is an all-weather outdoor program so you need to make sure you bring appropriate weather protection and clothing. Children must have closed footwear when walking in the bush, sun hats, sunscreen, wet weather gear, plenty of snacks and water and a change of clothes. Our program will only be cancelled in the event of an extreme weather warning; fire, storm, high temperatures and strong wind.

Ages: 5-12 years

*Parents are required to attend and are responsible for their children at all times.
