It’s time to get kids off the screens and into our Bush Kids – Forest School these school holidays! They’ll learn life skills and how to use real tools while making friends and building confidence.

Join us for this hands-on workshop with our facilitator Katie, as we embark on a bush adventure like no other! The kids will learn bush skills such as how to tie various rope knots and then design and construct their own mini boat or raft. This workshop involves plenty of construction and creativity and they will be using all natural materials. Then we’ll head off for a bush walk to learn all about the wildlife that live near the lake and of course, try out our boats. Will they sail or will they sink? Let’s see!

This forest school holiday workshop is being held at Newport Lakes and is a great opportunity for children to be outdoors, in nature, learning real skills with real tools and making useful things.

This workshop is run by Katie, who is a passionate environmental educator and scientist with many years bush experience using map, compass and bush skills while conducting field research  ‘off the beaten track’  in remote farming, forested and desert landscapes.

The children can work both independently and as a team and take these skills home with them that can use anytime in the bush.

Ages: 3 – 12 years

Parents must stay with their children at all times.
