Nature Detectives & Bush Cubby Building

  •  06/10/2017
     10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Ignite your child’s creativity and love of nature with this morning immersed in the bush at Gresswell forest, exploring and learning in nature and building nature cubbies! The children will learn essential bush skills such as tying rope knots, how to identify animal tracks, scat, nests, and evidence of animals living at Gresswell Forest.

The children will be encouraged to use their bodies through climbing, balancing and explore the bushland with friends. This is a great workshop for encouraging team work, problem-solving, creative thinking as well as learning essential bush skills. There will be plenty of loose parts to inspire creative play and their imagination and our workshop facilitator Ashlee, will gently guide and support your child to follow their interests and lead. No creation is the same!

Ashlee, our workshop facilitator is an early childhood educator that has also been mentoring children on wilderness camps and worked as a nature inspired puppet designer for over ten years.  Research clearly shows that children benefit enormously from being outdoors both physically and mentally and our unique bush program aims to connect children with nature in a supportive and nurturing environment while building confidence, social skills and a deep appreciation of our natural world.

This is an all weather, outdoor bush program so please ensure your child has appropriate weather clothing such as a hat, raincoat and boots and a small backpack with water and food.
