Mornington Peninsula – Fire Skills Workshop

  •  30/06/2023
     10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Come and join us to learn the art of fire lighting and how to use a fire steel safely in Mount Martha on the Mornington Peninsula where children will learn about the importance of fire, what materials it needs, fire safety and then they’ll all get a chance to use a fire steel and light their own fire.

If your child loves camping and the outdoors, then this fire lighting /making workshop is for them. There will even be time to toast marshmallow!

This workshop is run by early childhood educator Nina.

Research clearly shows that the more time children spend outdoors, then better they are prepared for school and life. Spending time outdoors is essential for normal development and a healthy childhood.

Our bush programs enable children to be kids, to get muddy and dirty and learn through real hands on experiences. We provide opportunities for families to completely immerse themselves in the outdoors, which is an excellent way to improve mental health, physical wellness and build strong relationships with others.

Eco Explorers is an all-weather outdoor program so you need to make sure you bring appropriate weather protection and clothing. Our program will only be cancelled in the event of an extreme weather warning; fire, storm, high temperatures and strong wind.

*Parents are required to stay and are responsible for their children at all times.

Ages: 4 – 10 years
