‘We’re going on a bug hunt, we’re going to find some small ones…’
Do you have a child that LOVES bugs? Going on adventures and learning all about the fascinating crawly critters? Then this workshop is for you!
Join us at Gresswell Forest Wildlife Reserve in Macleod for our bush kids program where we will be going on a bug and nature detective scavenger hunt in the forest! The children will create their own mini-beast out of natural/recycled materials. There will be a bug game and investigation stations set up for creative play, learning and investigating. Also, plenty of opportunity to explore, climb and go on an adventure in the bush learning about the local flora and fauna, we may even spot a kangaroo!
Eco Explorers supports children to develop important social, physical and emotional skills through hands-on learning and teaching them real-life bush survival and bushcraft skills.
Our program has been developed to give your child optimum opportunity to build their gross motor and physical skills through climbing, balancing, walking and fine motor skills during our craft activities. Research clearly shows that the more time your child spends in nature, the better they are prepared for school, both physically and emotionally.
This workshop is run by Bush Playgroup Facilitator, Ting.
Eco Explorers is an all weather outdoor program so wearing appropriate weather protection and clothing is important. Our program will only be cancelled in the event of an extreme weather warning; fire, storm, high temperatures and strong wind.
Ages: 2 – 6 years (siblings under 12 months are welcome to attend for free).
*Parents are responsible for their children at all times and are encourage to join in on the fun!
