Knoxfield Bush Play – DIY Flower Seed Bombs

  •  27/09/2022
     10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Join us for a morning of getting messy and creative at Lakewood Reserve in Knoxfield where we’ll be making edible flower seed bombs to plant in your garden and around your home. These seed bombs are extra special as they will provide you with not only flowers, but edible flowers! This workshop is a wonderful way to connect to nature and build your immune system as dirt is filled with good heathy microbes that are beneficial for your gut!

Once planted and flowering, these seed bombs are more than just decoration, flowers fulfil a key companion role in the veggie patch – encouraging predators and pollinators to play – and offer a range of subtle tastes, textures and colours at mealtime.

Our Bush Play workshops also include all our favourite bush playgroup activities where we sing songs, share stories and enjoy a bush walk learning about the local flora and fauna, as well as making your own seed bombs to take home. Our workshop guarantees to be a child’s sensory delight as they immerse themselves in nature play, creativity and learning.

Our program has been developed to give your child optimum opportunity to build their gross motor and physical skills through climbing, balancing, walking and fine motor skills during our craft activities. Research clearly shows that the more time your child spends in nature, the better they are prepared for school, both physically and emotionally.

This workshop is run by Claire, who is trained in Steiner Early Childhood Education.

Bush playgroup is an all weather outdoor playgroup so you need to make sure you bring appropriate weather protection and clothing. Children and adults must wear closed footwear when walking in the bush, sun hats, sunscreen, wet weather gear, plenty of snacks and water and even a change of clothes for those muddy play days! Our playgroup will only be cancelled in the event of an extreme weather warning; fire, storm, high temperatures and strong wind.

Ages: 2 – 8 years (siblings under 12 months are welcome to attend for free).

*Parents are responsible for their children at all times and are encourage to join in on the fun!

We're sorry, but all tickets sales have ended because the event is expired.
