DIY Nature Inspired Christmas Decorations for kids!

  • 08/12/2018
    10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Come and join us for a creative and fun morning making Christmas nature crafts! This is an opportunity to get messy and enjoy a variety of nature based – sensory play activities to prepare for the festive season.

Nature provides us with so many wonderful decorations and we’ll provide all the art and craft materials to make it happen. Our activities are aimed to encourage children to use their fine motor skills and strengthen muscles in their fingers which is needed for handwriting.

This workshop is being held at CERES Environmental Park in Brunswick East. An easy and handy inner north location with an organic market, a nursery, cafe, live music, a wonderful playspace and even community gardens for the whole family to enjoy.

There will be different Chrismas themed, nature craft activities on offer and children will get a chance to make a variety of decorations of their choice. We’ll be offering the following:

  • Clay ornaments
  • Gum leaf nature wreaths
  • Pine cone Christmas trees

PLUS Gingerbread playdough sensory pay for little ones!

These nature inspired decorations make a thoughtful and handmade gift for that special someone in your chid’s life. Perhaps a grandparent, special Aunt/Uncle, teacher or friend. At Eco Explorers, we believe that children hold the future of the planet in their hands so we hope to inspire them to take care of it and respect it. We do our best to reduce our environmental impact by not using plastic and recycling, reusing and reducing our waste where possible.

Our programs aim to inspire creativity, a natural curiosity and enriching sensory play experience while following your child’s interests at all times. We also ensure that children learn to use their bodies so that they develop strength, good balance and coordination while learning to take safe risks with guidance and support from the educators.

“It seems to me that the natural world is the greatest source of excitement; the greatest source of visual beauty; the greatest source of intellectual interest. It is the greatest source of so much in life that makes life worth living. – Sir David Attenborough”

Ages: 2 – 6 years

*Parents are required to stay and are responsible for the child at all times.
