Come and join us for a fun afternoon of nature play, sensory clay exploration and creating at the wonderful Ceres Environment Park in Melbourne’s Brunswick East. We’ll be set up in the African village with a range of treasures from nature so your child can create to their heart’s content!

During the session we’ll be making all sorts of wonderful things out of clay. Some children may make creatures and critters and they will discover things such as how many legs does a spider have? What does an echidna eat? How do dragonflies fly? We’ll be using natural materials to spark your child’s imagination and by the end of the event they will have made something special to take home.

The children will be shown some basic techniques, including how to use nature patterns for design and prints. The possibilities for creativity are endless with clay, they can make people, a home, or a castle and fort, or even flowers and bugs. Each creation is unique and our facilitator Penny will support the process of making and connecting with your child throughout the session.

Our workshop facilitator, Penny is a qualified primary school teacher who has been assisting and involved in the running of various local playgroups for over 5 years. She has been an Eco Explorers bush playgroups facilitator at Gresswell Forest for the past year and has a wonderful ability to gently guide and support children to discover, learn and explore their environment through interesting facts about wildlife and Australian flora.
