Campfire & Damper Making – primary school

  •  16/04/2019
     2:30 pm - 4:00 pm

Come and join us for an afternoon of damper making around a warm fire at the wonderful Ceres Environmental Park in Melbourne’s Brunswick East. We’ll be set up in the African village and will be offering children the opportunity to make their very own damper and then cook it over the fire to enjoy for morning tea. The children will also prepare their damper stick by sanding it smooth and then enjoy mixing together their damper, ready for the fire!

This workshop is a chance for children and families to slow down and enjoy the simpler things in life. It’s like going camping without all the packing!  We’ll also share some stories, maybe a few jokes and songs around the fire.

If your child loves camping and the outdoors, then this campfire and damper making workshop is for them!

Research clearly shows that the more time children spend outdoors, then better they are prepared for school and life. Spending time outdoors is essential for normal development and a healthy childhood.

This session will be led by Adam and Katie. Adam is the founder of Eco Explorers and Forest School Leader and Katie is an early childhood educator and qualified forest school leader.

We hope you can join us for a morning campfire ‘experience’ like no other.

Ages: 5-12 years
