    1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

It’s time to get kids off the screens and into our Bush Kids workshop these school holidays. They’ll learn real bush survival skills and bush crafts while making friends and building confidence in the outdoors. Do you have a curious child? A child that loves to climb, build, run and be free? Then this workshop is for them. We’ll embark on many adventures through the bush where we learn, discover and explore our natural environment and it’s fascinating wildlife.

The children will learn how to safely navigate and survive in the bush. How to track animals, use a compass and map and all about our amazing wildlife, plants, Indigenous history and even do a survival challenge!

Our Bush Kids workshop aims to inspire creativity, a natural curiosity and enriching sensory play experience while seeking to follow their interests and a instill a love of learning. We also ensure that children learn to use their bodies so that they develop strength, good balance and coordination while learning to take safe risks with guidance and support from the educators.

The children will be encouraged to use their bodies through climbing, balancing and explore the bushland with friends.

This workshop is run by Katie and Kate,

Katie is a passionate environmental educator and scientist with many years bush experience using map, compass and bush skills while conducting field research  ‘off the beaten track’  in remote farming, forested and desert landscapes. From an early age her father, an exploration geologist, taught Katie to read maps and the bush to survive and she looks forward to sharing these skills with the next generation of great explorers!

Kate is a professional artist and experienced primary school teacher with a major in Outdoor Education.  She is passionate about creativity and how sensory interaction with the natural environment can stimulate curiosity, imagination and creativity.
