Warrandyte – Be a Palaeontologist for the day!

  •  11/01/2022
     10:00 am - 12:00 pm

It’s time to get kids off the screens and into our Bush Kids workshop these school holidays. They’ll learn life skills and how to use real tools while making friends and building confidence in the outdoors.

In our be a Palaeontologist for a Day workshop, you will join Palaeontologist Diana for a hands-on workshop that takes children back in time hundreds of millions of years to discover and learn all about fossils, bones and ancient remains in nature. There will be games, a bush walk and an opportunity to see real fossils and bones and even do a fossil craft activity to take home.

By giving children small achievable tasks to complete, they learn to become more independent while developing self-esteem and confidence. By attending our forest school programs, children learn to assess risk and make sensible and informed decisions about how to deal with unfamiliar and unpredictable situations. The children will work both independently and as a team and take these skills home with them so they can use anytime in the bush.

Located at Pound Bend Reserve, this workshop is run by Diana who has an Archaeology and Palaeontology degree.

Ages 4 – 10 years

*Parents are required to stay and are responsible for their child at all times.
