Encourage native bees to visit your garden with your very own native bee habitat! Bees play an important environmental role in pollinating plants and this is a great workshop to learn all about them.

Children will make their own native bee habitat using various natural and recycled materials as well as learning how to safely use tools such a drill and hammer to help develop fine motor skills.

Our native bee habitats are good for hibernation and breeding in warmer months.

Located at the popular Ceres Environment Park in Melbourne’s Brunswick East, families can also enjoy a visit to the CERES organic market, cafe and the nursery while there.

This workshop is run by Adam and Ashlee.

Adam is the founder of Eco Explorers and has been delivering bush programs to families for over two years. He spent his childhood living and camping in the bush; climbing mountains, exploring rivers, learning to fish, track, make fires and to simplify… just ‘being’ at one in nature. Adam now hopes to share his childhood & adult experiences with the next generation to inspire a deep connection with nature. He is a forest school leader and has a background in Outdoor Education.

Ashlee is a qualified and experienced, early childhood educator and forest school leader who has been working as a wilderness camp leader and as a theatre puppet maker for children for nearly 10 years. She has a passion for connecting children to nature and does so through creative activities, stories and games.

Our school holiday program aims to inspire creativity, a natural curiosity and enriching sensory play experience while following your child’s interests at all times. We also ensure that children learn to use their bodies so that they develop strength, good balance and coordination while learning to take safe risks with guidance and support from the educators.
