Braeside Bush Kids – Whittle your own Stick Fairy or Gnome

  •  11/01/2024
     12:30 pm - 2:30 pm

It’s time to get kids off the screens and into our Forest School these school holidays! Our Forest School teaches children essential bush survival and bushcraft skills through hands on learning and nature based activities that are fun, engaging and promote self esteem, confidence, build resilience and most importantly encourage them to move and strengthen their bodies and connect with nature in a deep and meaningful way.

Our bushcraft and whittling workshop introduce children to the ancient art of whittling wood to provide them with the many ways to experience the joy of traditional hand woodworking. We cover basic safety and how to use a peeler or knife and your child will be supported and guided through the correct techniques and methods to make their own project and feel confident in beginner whittling.

Children leave feeling proud of their accomplishments and learning how to use real tools. If you are looking for an activity to engage your children and encourage them to be creative outdoors, we highly recommend whittling and woodworking and all the basic supplies can be found on our online store.

Located at Braeside Park, this workshop is run by Forest School Leader and Early Childhood Educator Nina.

Ages 4 – 10 years

*Parents are required to stay and supervise their child at all times.

We're sorry, but all tickets sales have ended because the event is expired.
