Description

Searching for bugs when outdoors with your child brings hours of exploration and delight and these beautifully illustrated laminated cards include 20 common bugs that you can find in your backyard or on a bushwalk in Australia.

These professionally printed bug hunt cards are A6 in size and a fun way for you to connect with nature and learn some things about the amazing mini creatures that inhabit our earth. Can you guess how many legs a centipede has? How does a grasshopper jump so high? Why do snails only come out after it rains? Getting outdoors and exploring bugs in nature helps develop curious little minds. Comes packaged in a handy calico drawstring bag.

This pack includes 20 printed sturdy A6 common bug cards which can be used in many different ways:

    • Go on a minibeast scavenger hunt

I wonder where you will look to find these minibeasts? You might need to get down low as some of them may be living underground. Maybe some can be found amongst bushes or trees. Perhaps some like to be near waterways. Grab these cards and go on a bug scavenger hunt!

    • Pin them up on the wall

Our bug cards can be a lovely display in the home or in a child’s bedroom. As you discover each creature out in the world perhaps you might like to stick its corresponding card up on the wall. This is a great way to record your discoveries.

    • Use them as a story writing/telling prompt

Choose a bug card and make up a story about that creature. You may like to use the fact sheet to inform your story or just let your imagination run wild.

    • Practice drawing

Use the bug cards as prompts to do your own mini-beasts illustrations.

Happy exploring!
