Winter Solstice Campfire and Lantern Making – Mornington Peninsula

  •  22/06/2019
     4:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Join us for an early evening family winter solstice celebration for past and present and new playgroup families on the Mornington Peninsula. We’ll be gathering on Bunurong land at the Balcombe Estuary in Mount Martha for a lantern making activity and a warm fire to celebrate the winter solstice, marking the longest night and the shortest day of the year.

The children will be guided by their facilitator Alison to make their own winter lanterns ready for the night ahead! There will be stories around the campfire and some hot tea/hot chocolate and marshmallows for the kids to enjoy. Pack a snack or dinner. BBQ facilities are available.

This winter solstice gathering is a chance for both past, present and new families to come together and share a beautiful evening of connection in nature. The children will also go on a bush walk at night with their newly made lanterns!

Our workshop facilitator Alison is a qualified Primary and Secondary School Teacher, who has been running bush playgroups in the Mornington Peninsula for the past 18 months. She has experience working with children with special needs, as well as being involved in helping set up natural play spaces for her local kindergarten and playgroup for many years.

All materials provided.

Ages: 3 – 10 years (siblings under 3 years are welcome to attend for free).

*Parents are responsible for their children at all times and close supervision is required around the fire.

We're sorry, but all tickets sales have ended because the event is expired.
