Mushroom Reef Marine Sanctuary – Rockpools & Beach Art – CANCELLED

Mushroom Reef Marine Sanctuary  is a beautiful rockpool oasis located in Flinders on the Mornington Peninsula famous for its diversity of marine life, including sheltered rock pools, coves and a shallow reef on the ocean side as well as sandstone rock platforms extending from the shore.

Come and join us for a fun morning out on the rockpools discovering the magnificent marine, sharing stories and then getting creative making art from loose parts at the beach with our facilitator and artist Alicia!

During this interactive workshop children will:

        • Learn about the marine life the live in Mushroom Reef Sanctuary
        • Go on a rock pool ramble
        • Learn how to protect the marine life through games
        • Create a peice of beach art with artist and facilitator Alicia.

Our program has been developed to give your child optimum opportunity to build their gross motor and physical skills through climbing, balancing, walking and fine motor skills during our craft activities. Research clearly shows that the more time your child spends in nature, the better they are prepared for school, both physically and emotionally.

Our workshop facilitator Alicia lives on the Peninsula and has a love for all things nature.

Ages: 3 – 12 years (siblings under 14 months are welcome to attend for free).
