Mothers & Daughters Weaving, Art & Mindfulness Workshop

  •  21/09/2019
     1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Join us for our first Mothers & Daughters event where we gather in nature to connect with the land through nature art, craft and weaving. We meet in a beautiful bush space, away from all modern cons and technology where you can let go and immerse yourself in creativity and mindfulness. There is nothing more special than spending quality time connecting in nature and building on the bond between mother and daughter.

This for open to all daughter’s aged 6 +, for adult daughter’s and their mother’s, grandmothers and even Aunts. An opportunity to unite and share as women and to support, honour and encourage our girls to shine. It takes a tribe to raise a village and we shouldn’t be doing it on our own.

If you like to spend some quality one on one time with your daughter, perhaps she’s a teen and your time together is often limited or non-existent? This is a chance to reconnect and nurture that wonderful and special relationship between mother and daughter.

We will immerse ourselves in the sounds and scents of nature through forest bathing and a guided meditation led by Hayley, a mindfulness coach, artist and bush playgroup facilitator.

We will be weaving, drawing and painting in nature with Kate, a primary school teacher, professional artist and bush playgroup facilitator for Eco Explorers.

We will practice becoming ‘unbusy’ and fully present.

As mums, we often don’t get the opportunity to take time out for ourselves to do something we enjoy but being creative and mindful is essential for our health and well-being. I’ve seen (and know) the benefits of parents connecting in nature at our bush playgroups and the simple joy that nature craft brings to many of the mums as they chat and create. This is for you!

During an opening meditation, you will be invited to clear your mind and become present, not lost in the past or running to the future, just focusing on the here and now. Enjoy the feeling of becoming mindful, letting go of ego and rediscovering your curiosity.

Allow yourself this time to release the creative flow as you learn the traditional art of weaving and creating something magical to take home.

No prior experience or skills is required. We are there to guide and support you.

This workshop is run by Hayley and Kate.

Hayley has been facilitating workshops for over 4 years from large festivals to small intimate groups. Hayley will be there to support and facilitate your journey, creating a safe and nurturing environment.

*Tea, bliss balls and fruit will be provided.
