Marine Kids Rock Pool Discovery

  •  16/04/2019
     1:30 pm - 3:00 pm

Ricketts Point Marine Sanctuary, located just near Beaumaris, south-east of Melbourne is the perfect place to introduce kids to the wonders of underwater marine life. The area offers a diverse range of habitats with its rock pools and bushland close to shore.

Come and join us for a morning of nature connection, rock pool exploration, activities and learning at Ricketts Point Marine Sanctuary. Our nature based school holiday program offers you the best of nature play in a relaxed, supportive and positive environment. The children will learn all about the fascinating marine life at Ricketts Points through various activities, stories and games. They will do a rockpool ramble and learn to identify various creatures that live there. They will discuss environmental issues affecting our marine environment and how they can all help to protect it.

Research clearly shows that the more time your child spends in nature, the better they are prepared for school, both physically and emotionally.

Our workshop facilitator, Amy has a Bachelor of Science (Marine Biology & Zoology) and a Bachelor of Teaching (Primary & Secondary). She’s previously worked in education for Gould League, Zoos Victoria, the Marine Discovery Centre Queenscliff, Ecologic in Anglesea and Vancouver Aquarium. She also leads weekly snorkels in Summer for members of Marine Care Ricketts Point.

Ages: 4 – 10 years

*Parents are responsible for their children at all times.
