  •  04/07/2019
     1:30 pm - 3:30 pm

Join us in this hands-on workshop by the banks of the Yarra- Birrarung River in Warrandyte where kids learn essential rope and bush skills such as tying various rope knots, learning to construct a boat and mini raft using natural materials. The kids will start off with simple designs and then build more elaborate constructions.

This workshop run by Adam. Adam is the founder of Eco Explorers and has been delivering bush programs to families for over two years. He spent his entire childhood living and camping in the bush; climbing mountains, exploring rivers, learning to fish, track, make fires and to simplify… just ‘being’ at one in nature. Adam now hopes to share his childhood & adult experiences with the next generation to inspire a deep connection with nature. He is also a forest school leader and has a background in Outdoor Education.

By giving children small achievable tasks to complete, they learn to become more independent while developing self-esteem and learning to assess risk and make sensible and informed decisions about how to deal with unfamiliar and unpredictable situations. The children will work both independently and as a team and take these skills home with them that can use anytime in the bush.

Ages: 4 – 10 years

*Parents are required to stay and are responsible for their children at all times.
