Gresswell Bush Play – Let’s go on a BUG Hunt!

  •  28/09/2022
     10:00 am - 12:00 pm

‘We’re going on a bug hunt, we’re going to find some small ones…’

Do you have a child that LOVES bugs? Going on adventures and learning all about the fascinating crawly critters? Then this workshop is for them!

Join us at Gresswell Forest Wildlife Reserve in Macleod for our Bush kids workshop where we will be going on a bug and nature detective scavenger hunt in the bush! The children will create their own mini-beasts out of clay and natural/recycled materials. There will be a bug game and investigation stations set up for learning. Also, plenty of opportunity to explore and go on a big adventure in the bush.

Our program has been developed to give your child optimum opportunity to build their gross motor and physical skills through climbing, balancing, walking and fine motor skills during our craft activities. Research clearly shows that the more time your child spends in nature, the better they are prepared for school, both physically and emotionally.

This workshop is run by May who has a background in biology and genetics.

Bush playgroup is an all weather outdoor playgroup so you need to make sure you bring appropriate weather protection and clothing. Children and adults must wear closed footwear when walking in the bush, sun hats, sunscreen, wet weather gear, plenty of snacks and water and even a change of clothes for those muddy play days! Our playgroup will only be cancelled in the event of an extreme weather warning; fire, storm, high temperatures and strong wind.

Ages: 2 – 8 years (siblings under 12 months are welcome to attend for free).

*Parents are responsible for their children at all times and are encourage to join in on the fun!
