Forest School – Woodworking Workshop

  •  30/09/2019
     2:30 pm - 4:00 pm

It’s time to get kids off the screens and into our Forest school workshop these school holidays. They’ll learn life skills and how to use real tools while making friends and building confidence in the outdoors.

This hands-on workshop will teach children the basics of how to use some real tools to create all sorts of woodworking projects they can take home. Children will have access to a variety of natural timbers that vary in shape, textures and lengths for them to use.

By giving children small achievable tasks to complete, they learn to become more independent while developing self-esteem and confidence. By attending our forest school programs, children learn to assess risk and make sensible and informed decisions about how to deal with unfamiliar and unpredictable situations. The children will work both independently and as a team and take these skills home with them so they can use anytime in the bush.

Located at the popular Ceres Environment Park in Melbourne’s Brunswick East, families can also enjoy a visit to the CERES organic market, cafe and the nursery while there.

This workshop is run by Adam and Melinda.

Adam is the founder of Eco Explorers and has been delivering bush programs to families for over two years. He spent his childhood living and camping in the bush; climbing mountains, exploring rivers, learning to fish, track, make fires and to simplify… just ‘being’ at one in nature. Adam now hopes to share his childhood & adult experiences with the next generation to inspire a deep connection with nature. He is a forest school leader and has a background in Outdoor Education.

*Parents are required to stay and are responsible for their child at all times.
