Forest School – Knots, Ropes & Construction

  •  24/09/2019
     12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

It’s time to get kids off the screens and into our Bush Kids Forest School Program these school holidays! This hands on workshop will teach kids how to tie various knots and how to make really COOl constructions such as rope swings, rope ladders, frames and even cubbies out of rope. The possibilities are endless but there’s always lots of climbing, swinging and satisfaction as they complete their project.

This workshop is run by Adam and Ashlee.

Adam is the founder of Eco Explorers and has been delivering bush programs to families for over two years. He spent his entire childhood living and camping in the bush; climbing mountains, exploring rivers, learning to fish, track, make fires and to simplify… just ‘being’ at one in nature. He is also a forest school leader and has a background in Outdoor Education.

By giving children small achievable tasks to complete, they learn to become more independent while developing self-esteem and learning to assess risk and make sensible and informed decisions about how to deal with unfamiliar and unpredictable situations. The children will work both independently and as a team and take these skills home with them that can use anytime in the bush.

Ages: 4 – 12 years

*Parents are responsible for their children at all times.
