Nature Play Day – Clay Critters

  •  27/09/2017
     10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Come and join us for a fun morning of nature play at the wonderful Ceres Environmental Park in Melbourne’s Brunswick East. We’ll be set up in the African village with a range of interactive, engaging and sensory nature play activities for your little ones to enjoy such as nature painting and creating nature stamps through sensory exploration.  Of course, our mud kitchen area is always popular with the little ones who enjoy cooking up a storm of mud pies and mud cakes!

This morning we’ll be making all sorts of wonderful creatures and critters from clay! Children will discover things such as how many legs does a spider have? What does an echidna eat? How do dragonflies fly? We’ll be using natural materials to spark your child’s imagination and by the end of the session, they will have made something special to take home. Each creation is unique and our facilitator will support the process of making and connecting with your child throughout the session. There is plenty of opportunity for free and unstructured play as our playgroups are child led.

Your nature play facilitator Penny, who is a qualified primary school teacher and playgroup facilitator will gently guide and support your child, as well as share an Australian story and a song with the children throughout the session.  There will be plenty of imaginative play with our box of loose parts to spark their creativity.

We hope you can join us!
