  •  01/10/2019
     10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Families are invited to join us for a day like no other discovering Masons Falls, located within the stunning Kinglake National Park is the largest national park close to Melbourne offering tall forests, fern gullies and rolling hills, an extensive network of walking tracks and other facilities, as well as vantage points offering scenic views.

We meet at the Masons Falls picnic area and head off on a bushwalk through the rainforest, past fern gullies, creeks and to the beautiful falls and learn how to safely navigate in the bush,  track animals, learn all about our amazing wildlife, plants, Indigenous history and even do a nature scavenger hunt and then return for a BBQ picnic and some bush games and fun activities such as making cordage, building rope swings and bush cubbies.

Our school holiday workshop aims to inspire creativity, natural curiosity and enriching sensory play experience while seeking to follow their interests and a instil a love of learning. We also ensure that children learn to use their bodies so that they develop strength, good balance and coordination while learning to take safe risks with guidance and support from the educators.

This workshop is run by Adam.

Adam is the founder of Eco Explorers and has been delivering bush programs to families for over two years. He spent his entire childhood living and camping in the bush; climbing mountains, exploring rivers, learning to fish, track, make fires and to simplify… just ‘being’ at one in nature. Adam now hopes to share his childhood & adult experiences with the next generation to inspire a deep connection with nature. He has a background in Outdoor Education and enjoys camping, bushcraft, rock climbing, and meditation.

Our school holiday program is an all weather outdoor program so you need to make sure you bring appropriate weather protection and clothing. Children must have closed footwear when walking in the bush, sun hats, sunscreen, wet weather gear, plenty of snacks and water and a change of clothes. Our program will only be cancelled in the event of an extreme weather warning; fire, storm, high temperatures and strong wind.

PLEASE NOTE: There will be some bushwalking so you need to be reasonably fit to attend. Tracks are not suitable for prams.

Includes BBQ lunch.
